Sandeep : hi sid , so how’s life ? how’s the things going with Miss. X..?

Sid : hello , yaar , i am fine and the ball has really started to roll now , had a lengthy talk with X last night , more than an hour ..mazaa aa gaya…

Sandeep : yaar , i have never been able to understand this ..How can you talk for so long on phone , it gets to my nerves if i talk for more than 5 mins , have tried to do it many times , but after those initial 5 to 10 mins , it really starts to get funny ..long periods of silence and then same ques . so what’s up ? kind of silly ..i think chat is much better ..you can take up a topic and then talk continuously on it ..no need to give immediate replies , you can think over a topic and then reply .. i have been chatting a lot with this Miss. Y , and i can tell you i really enjoy chating to her …

Sid: leave it dude ..talking on phone gives you another pleasure ..you feel more emotionally attached ..and yes you get genuine replies from the other side ..they are the one that are most spontaneous ..not the fake smiles one can make on chat .. you can genuinely feel about that person from the tone of her voice ..

Sandeep : hmmmmm..point ..absolutely a point ..but yaar , how can you talk for so long on phone ..mere toh pasine aane lagte hain and it is then , when i start to act really stupid…

Sid : yaar , yeh ek kala hai …see with the guys , there is no problem .it is in a way very much similar to the way we are talking now ..with the girls ..hmmm there is a secret ..kabhi baad mein …

Sandeep : ok yaar , but do tell me …

Warning : After my friend Sid’s comment ..( which i have edited in a great way …) , i think this should more be a call Vs chat post …no serious thoughts should be attached despite my earlier comment that every co relation is purely intentional…

Actual Friends…

This should have been in one of my starting posts ..

Yesterday when hitanshu for the first time started to write in his blog , the first topic he wrote was about his friends in the two years during the preparation for JEE . Honestly i felt very guilty , that i have not mentioned them even once in my blog though i have wrote several times about F.R.I.E.N.D.S … It was not that i got too busy in my schedule or i forgot them , but somehow never felt to write about it which was in a way very strange ,as they are the ones who were pat of my life in such an imp. phase of the life .. Now when i want to write about them , i do not know with which to start with , they were all so equal and so important , so i am writing in albhabetical order , the easiest way ..

ANSHUL : The Mr. Right of the group , no matter what the circumstances were , what the current scenario was , he was there with his opinion which inevitably was always right ..He gives a kind of opinion which you think that your mom – dad would give in that situation … YOu would never like his opinion but somewhere you know that he is right… . Academically i think it is only the anshul , jis ke kisse door door tak famous hain ..an extremely intelligent guy , whose problem solving and calculations in mathematics would leave you dumbstruck ( He will calculate for you 2 raise to power 64 in less than a min , solve for you a cubic equation and come up with roots you cannot imagine , do the factorization of complex equations and when you ask him the secret , he will simply say yaar , is mein kya tha !!) and yes about chemistry everyone knows , the favourite of sangeeta mam , would get more than 140 in a test of 150 and still no signs of happiness on his face ( agar kshitij ya mere kabhi aaye hote , toh khushi ke maare pagal ho jate ) , would solve the problems of mole concept at an amazing speed and that too without calculator . the one guy who would remember all the dates right from the lodhi dynasty to all the birthdays of the friends . Ah! the one guy whose almirah was always full of something to eat ( yaar , woh malai kofta was extremely delicious , jab patiala aaya toh woh paka khaoonga aunti se )and we quite shamelessly were always looking in his almirah … a good basketball player ( par haan , mere se kam ) . He is still with me in IITD , always teasing me about someone ( ab toh chod de , yaar kyun besti karwai hai ) , but now meet him much less as he is in different hostel and different department..But fella! you will always be one of the great friends i ever have …

HITANSHU : The Mr. ” Baithe Raho ” of the group .No matter how small or how big the thing is , once this guy does it , this dialogue ” baithe raho ” is bound to come from him .. The bubbly of the group , weigh somewhere around 85 kgs but appears to have more than a ton , but yes in the looks he can give a tough competition to even SRK , the way he will comb his hair and then say ” yaar aaj mein bahut smart lag raha hoon ” are all well known to the entire group ( haan yaar , saari ladkian tere pe marti hain ). He has a tendancy of getting into problems and then also losing his courage to solve them ( but anshul jyada times pe iske saath hota hai ) . Academically he is a real sharp brain , his physics was superb ( OK, leave the first seating arrangement test ) , a very quick learner of virtually anything ( he started playing T.T after me , but in the later stages could defeat me with quite an ease ( i am a littlt modest here ) , also started to play good basketball , and yes cricket ! we all know , the opening batsman of the team ) Above all these things , which are all secondary , he is one of the best friend you will ever going to have ( and you know this deep in your heart ) , the one with which you can go and just talk for hours … Mote one last thing , do you still have that Pyjama with you ??? . i forgot to mention he is in IITK now.

KSHITIJ : ( i think i have spelled it right ) The Mr. ” Hard Working ” and Mr. Joker of the group . Tall height , bushy hair , body like clothes on a hanger , braces on the teeth ( though they were replaced by only a wire in the end ) , this guy stands apart in the group . He will find humour in the smallest of the things and would ignore even the best of the jokes , will spent an hour or two on an easy problem but would solve the most tough problem in a moment , will try to find logic in the most illogical things according to me and yet would ignore a perfectly logical point. By his actions and strong body movements he was the hero of the whole group . Academically what can i say , the most hardworking among all of us , i think studied for more than 16 hours in the beginning of +1 , can solve the toughest of the problems in the books ( i think , us mein yeh sher tha ) , the only problem was he used to make lot of so called silly mistakes , but a genious in virtually every field be it maths , physics , chemistry or general knowledge . To me he was of special significance , not only because he was my roommate in +1 , but also because the way he used to study , the way he would keep on thinking about something till he got it , i think main shayad padna sirf is ke karan hi laga tha , the one guy who is always a source of inspiration for me . Sometimes we used to fight , sometimes had those long spells of ‘ no talking ‘ , but in the end , it always got sorted out.. i think these things are quite common in a friendship that is between two friends studying in the same room and for the same thing…. Again , he is in IITB.

Sandeep : Last but not the least , here i am . I would not do justice to the whole post , if i did not write something about me . But on the other end , it would not be fair to write my version of who i am . so just a few lines … cannot find a word that would fit into Mr. of the group , but yes tall , good personality woulddescribe me physically . a little stupid in daily matters , have an ok types sense of humour , and on the academic front , good in mathematics and physics ( i really do not know how i got selected in chemistry olympiad and missed out Physics ) .
that’s all , nothing much ( vaise bhi kafi hawa le chuka hoon )

SO here are my 3 friends without which it would have been difficult to pass my two years in hostel , i remember those nights after the tests when we used to sit around in anshul’s and mote’s room and discuss about our lives ( that were probably the most high points in our friendship )..

Special thanks.

This post is dedicated to all the wonderful friends of mine ( kansal , ankit , shikhar and all others ) . They were the ones which took care of me when i was completely out of order . Like they send dinner for me upstairs , took medicines for me , arranged an ambulance for me to go to hospital ( ok , that was a precautionary measure as i was really feeling like a heater at that time , so they thought it would be better to go to hospital ) and doing all the necessary stuff ..

Thanks to all of them , you truly are great friends , Thanks once again …
